Meet Sam & Doug F.

Adoptive family

We are Doug and Samantha. Doug is a 5th grade Social Studies teacher and Sam is a Nurse Assistant in the NICU. We are so excited to become first-time parents through the blessing of adoption. We want to assure you that we know parenting is a lifelong commitment. With our strong marriage, supportive family and friends, and our faith, we will be able to provide a wonderful life for a child.

If you choose us to parent your child, we promise to respect you and whatever level of openness you may want. Whether it is visits, letters, pictures, or phone calls, we want you to be a part of your child’s life. It is important to us that they have an understanding of where they came from and how much you love them. We want to share their adoption story with them from the beginning and always in a manner of love and respect.

Loving family for your child
Celebrating a birthday with our nieces

We met our junior year of high school in Zoology class as lab partners dissecting a shark. Not the most romantic story but definitely memorable. We quickly became friends and ended up going to prom as our first date. Since then, we have been inseparable.

We have been together 14 years now. That’s about half of our lives, and we don’t have many stories without the other one in it!! We make a great team and balance each other perfectly. We love to spend time together doing simple things like cuddling on the couch binge watching Netflix, walking our dog, cooking new recipes, and doing home projects. We also like to be active in our community by going to Cincinnati Reds games, visiting the zoo, aquarium, museums, attending concerts, craft shows and theater shows.

Good parents ready to adopt
Daisy is our 5-year-old Giant Schnoodle (half poodle and half giant schnauzer). She is pretty laid back but loves to play and go on walks. She’s great with kids and will love to have a little one to play with.

We also love to take vacations and explore new cities every chance we get. Our Saturdays are filled with these activities, and on Sundays we attend church and make time for our family. No matter what we end up doing, if we are together, we are laughing and having a great time making beautiful memories.

We have been together through so many phases of life and have grown so much together. We are excited to begin this next phase of life as parents.

Doug on Sam Sam is a beautiful spirit – caring, supportive, and funny. She gives 100% to every activity. Whether it is throwing parties for our nieces, decorating our beautiful home, planning vacations, or caring for babies at her job in the NICU, Sam is all in.

Sam on Doug Doug is the most patient, supportive, helpful, and thoughtful husband possible, and I thank God for him every day. I love to see him interact with our nieces being silly and playing games. It shows what an amazing dad he will be to our children.

We have been in our home for five years now. We have four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We have already chosen a nursery and can’t wait to decorate it. We also have a large fenced-in backyard where we love to tend our vegetable garden and enjoy making s’mores on the fire pit. We can’t wait to build a swing set. Our home is set in a safe and quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and children playing outside. We are super close to a great park where we enjoy walking our dog Daisy and playing in the creek with our nieces.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We wish you a sense of peace with whatever you decide is best for you and your sweet baby.

Sincerely yours,
Doug & Samantha

Our Family At a Glance

We live in Dayton, Ohio. We have been married since October 2013. We work as a Teacher and Nurse Assistant. A few of our hobbies are spending time with family, going on vacations, attending sports events, and walking our dog. We believe open adoption is best for all those involved, especially the child. It is important that they know their story from the beginning and that adoption is talked about in a manner of love and respect.
