Meet Sam & Doug F.
Dear Expectant Family,
Hello! We are Doug and Sam. We met in high school 18 years ago, and have now been happily married for 12 of those years. Doug works as a 5th grade Social Studies teacher, and Sam is taking a break from working in healthcare to be a stay-at-home mom to our four-year-old son Jonah. We were blessed to adopt Jonah in 2021, and becoming parents has been a beautiful, rewarding, and joyous gift. We now look forward to welcoming another child. With our strong marriage, supportive family, and our faith, we will provide a safe, nurturing, and adventure-filled life.
We cannot fully understand all you are going through, but want you to know we are praying that you feel loved and supported and that you have a sense of peace with whatever you decision you make.
Doug says, “Sam is a beautiful spirit – caring, supportive, and funny. She gives 100% to all she does. She has embraced motherhood — baby snuggles, sleepless nights, imaginative play, making holidays and birthdays special, and teaching new skills to our son.”
If you choose us as parents for your child, we promise to respect whatever level of contact you are comfortable with, from letters and pictures to visits and phone calls. We would love for you to consider yourself a part of our family. This child will know where they came from, what you sacrificed for them, and how much you love them.
Sam says, “Doug is the most patient, supportive, helpful, and thoughtful husband possible, and I thank God for him every day. He loves his career as a teacher, and he is an amazing father, as I knew he would be, spending countless hours with Jonah.”
We do things every day to make life special: Curling up on the couch watching a movie, making dinner together, having dance parties, walking our dog Daisy while Jonah rides his bike, doing crafts, going to the park, playing cars, and cuddling at the end of the day reading some books. We cheer on the Cincinnati Reds at baseball games, visit all our favorite animals at the zoo, play games at Chuck E. Cheese, go to Kings Island, do the monthly kids workshops at Lowes, and explore different museums. We enjoy the entire year: picking strawberries in the spring, swimming and taking vactions in the summer, attending festivals in the fall, seeing the Christmas lights in the winter — and so much more! It is tremendous fun being able to experience all of these things through the eyes of a child.
Our favorite vacation spot — Disney World
Jonah is the light of our lives. He is a creative, intelligent, and kind-spirited little boy, who brightens every room with his smile. He adores his cars — Disney Pixar Cars, Monster Jam, and Hot Wheels. He never leaves home without at least a couple cars. We know he will be a great big brother and are excited to see him step into that role.

Our Family at a Glance
We live in Dayton, Ohio. We have been married since October 2013. We work as a teacher and a stay-at-home mom. Our hobbies include spending time with family, attending sports events, and going on vacations. We believe open adoption is best for all involved, especially the child. We believe that a child should know their story from the beginning and that the more people who love and support a child, the better.
