Meet Ryan and Kristen G.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about us. We admire your courage and the self-sacrificial love you have shown by considering an open adoption. We believe every child is a precious gift, and, if you choose us as adoptive parents, we promise to give your child unconditional love and every opportunity to thrive.
We are Ryan and Kristen, and we have been married for 11 years. We love our lives together. We enjoy walks with our rescue dog, Gus, and riding our bikes. We spend as much time with our families as possible, hosting holidays and football games. Our backyard is our oasis, filled with birds, trees, flowers and a Koi pond. Our faith is an important part of our life. We attend church weekly and pray daily for our family, Godchildren and future children, and their birthparents.
Growing our family has been part of our shared hopes and dreams for our marriage, but we have faced many challenges due to infertility. Through this trial, we have learned how precious every child is and know that we have been called to grow our family through open adoption.
Ryan home on leave from Afghanistan
Ryan started his career as a combat medic in the Army National Guard, where he was enlisted for six years, with a one-year tour of duty in Afghanistan. After the military, he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has now worked in The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State as an infection preventionist for nine years. His employer offers convenient childcare, located next to his office, paternity leave, and half off tuition for children attending Ohio State. In his free time, Ryan enjoys camping, hiking, working on projects around the house, and volunteering for local children’s associations. He’s excited to become a father and can’t wait to shower his child with lots of love and laughter.
Cheering on the Buckeyes
Kristen graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Education and has been a middle school English teacher for 11 years. She loves that she gets to belly laugh daily with her students and feel fulfilled. Her career allows for summers and holidays off and maternity leave. When not in the classroom, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spends as much time outdoors as possible. In her summers off, she babysits and teaches summer school and safety town. Her happy place is on her daily walks with Gus around our tree-lined streets. Kristen has a serious sweet tooth and is constantly baking desserts. Kristen’s heart is full of so much love to give to a child of her own and she is thankful for the gift of open adoption which will make that prayer a reality.
In our backyard
Our Home in Grandview Heights, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, has three bedrooms, plenty of living space, and a fully-fenced large backyard with two patios, a pergola and a Koi pond with lots of fish that our neighbor kiddos love to feed! Grandview is a safe and vibrant community where everything is within walking/biking distance and the streets are always full of families. We are just a few miles from the Columbus Zoo, multiple museums, The Ohio State University, and several leading medical centers. Our community will allow for our child to thrive and have every opportunity available to them!
We promise to love your child unconditionally and strive to give them every opportunity possible. We promise that your child will always know that you loved them first and wanted the very best for them. Please know that you and your child are in our prayers always. We would be honored to have your child join our loving family.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
With great love and admiration,
Ryan and Kristen
