Meet Kirsten & Peter L.
Dear Expectant Family,
Thank you. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know our family. We want you to know that you are loved and supported no matter where you are within your journey; we admire the strength and courage you have in choosing to adopt.
We recognize the incredible gift and sacrifice that comes with someone entrusting their child into our care and family but know that we welcome you into our family as well. Our hearts are full of love and joy.
You are brave, beautiful, and selfless.
The Two of Us
We would consider how we met as fate. We met online while Kirsten was living in Indiana and Peter in Florida. Once Kirsten moved to Florida, we realized we lived a short driving distance away from each other and met for the first time when we were teenagers in 2009. We have been together ever since. We got married in April of 2015 in front of our family and friends. We’ve always talked about having a family of our own since we were kids, knowing that we wanted to adopt regardless of if we could have children of our own.
About Kirsten I was born in Connecticut and was raised in the cornfields of Indiana. During my freshman year of high school, I moved to Florida and stayed there until 2018 when we pursued professional opportunities in Dayton, Ohio – how much I’ve missed the four seasons! I have my bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Franklin University and my associate’s degree in Arts from St. Petersburg College; I work from home as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator for a healthcare company based in Ohio.
My biggest passions are crafting and reading; giving is my love language. I am so incredibly grateful that I have the opportunity to give everything I have to a child through adoption. My friends and family know me for my Harry Potter obsession. I have even visited Diagon Alley at Universal Studios, Orlando. I’ll admit, I cried with happiness when I saw it face-to-face – it truly was magical! I started buying the collection of Illustrated Harry Potter books several years ago so that I can read them to our future child.
About Peter I was born and raised in New York and moved to Florida when I was ten years old. I graduated from high school and then pursued and received a degree in Computer Programming and Analysis from St. Petersburg College. In 2018, we moved to Dayton, Ohio for our professional growth and opportunities. I currently work from home as an IT Application Analyst for a healthcare company based in Indiana and thoroughly enjoy my job and its flexibility.
Adoption is not unfamiliar in my family; my mom and uncle were adopted along with two of my nieces and nephews – I knew I’ve always wanted to adopt. I enjoy spending time with friends and family with board games and pizza night. Board games were always an important part of my childhood since they brought us together and I look forward to continuing that tradition with my child. I am always up to date with technology, and I enjoy creating games and applications. Game development is everchanging and I love the puzzles and problem solving it provides.
Dreams for Our Child
We want to provide a loving, caring, and supportive family for our child. We want our future child to be the best person they can be. We will be present and encouraging.
We want our future child to reach for the stars and obtain them. We want them to want for nothing and know that they have family to guide and protect them. Being their adoptive parents, we want them to know that their family doesn’t end with us, they are special in that they have support from everyone.
We want our future child to be an independent thinker and use their knowledge to benefit others; we want them to want to give back. We want them to participate in activities, clubs, or teams. We want them to love as they are loved.
Thank you for considering us as your child’s adoptive parents,
Peter & Kirsten
