Meet Katrina & Chris B.
We truly appreciate you taking this time to learn about us and considering the possibility of entrusting your baby to us. If chosen, we promise to love your child unconditionally, to nurture them, and to make them our number one priority.
When we adopted Benjamin in October 2021, growing our family through adoption felt completely natural and wonderful. Adoption had already been a big part of both of our lives. Katrina’s parents adopted her sister and one of her brothers when she was ten. Chris and his seven multi-cultural siblings were all adopted into a vibrant Italian family and raised with lots of extended family close by.
Adopting Benjamin was a dream come true.
Adopting Benjamin was a dream come true — he has filled our lives with joy. Everything we do, we now do with him and for him. We are now ready to grow our family through adoption again. We both grew up with siblings and know what a special part of life that is — our dream has always been to have two kids close in age so that they can experience the sibling bond while still allowing us the time to focus on each of them fully.
We met in graduate school in New Orleans, both working on master’s degrees in public health. We have been strongly committed to each other for 14 years. We’ve traveled and lived throughout the country, explored the world, and finally chose to settle in Dayton, Ohio, close to Katrina’s family as we build a family of our own.
Katrina hiking with Benjamin
The three of us enjoy a lot of activities together, including hiking and walking in nature, gardening, and playing with our dogs. We absolutely love traveling to all the beautiful national parks in the US as well as to countries throughout the world.
Getting together with friends and family is what we love best — and we have lots of friends and family nearby! We like exploring new places, going out to eat, and playing games both indoors and outside. We love visiting the children’s museum, sand dunes, caves, the zoo, the aquarium, and festivals. You can imagine the fun that Benjamin is having with all the attention from his cousins, and exploring new places!
Katrina’s side of the family on a rainy day
We definitely spend a lot of time outdoors. On Sunday afternoons we have the whole extended family over to play and just hang out. Chris makes everyone dinner, grilling out when the weather is nice. Dinner on Sunday at our place is a family tradition.
If you choose us to parent your baby, you would be giving us the greatest gift of our lives! Our lives will center around supporting them so that they grow up able to love themselves fully and to appreciate you and the loving decision you made for them. Your child will know where they came from and know their family history.
We would love to build a relationship with you and to support a relationship between you and your child throughout their life, to the extent that you would like.
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking this time and for considering us as a possible family for your child. What an incredible gift it would be – lighting up our lives!
With deepest respect and appreciation,
Katrina and Chris
Please note: Although we are in a long-term committed relationship, we are not married. Legally, Katrina will be the sole adoptive parent, but in daily life Chris will be the father, and he plans to adopt the child legally afterwards.
