Meet Katrina B. & Chris M.
Hello!
Dear birth parent,
Thank you for learning a little about us. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know more about you and the hopes and dreams you have for your child.
Adoption has always been a big part of both of our lives. Katrina has an adopted brother and sister. Chris and his seven multi-cultural siblings were all adopted. That’s why growing our family through adoption feels completely natural and wonderful.
Adopting Benjamin in October 2021 was a dream come true. He’s the center of our universe. Our family and friends cherish him as we do. Now we’re eager to welcome a second child into our family! Having siblings was incredibly special to both of us, and our dream now is to have two kids close in age who can experience the sibling bond.

This Is Us.
We met in New Orleans while both working on master’s degrees in public health, and we’ve been strongly committed to each other for 16 years. We chose to settle in Dayton to be close to Katrina’s family as we build our own family.
Spending time with friends and family is what we love best — and we have lots of friends and family nearby! We love exploring new places, playing games – indoors and out – going to the children’s museum, sand dunes, caves, the zoo, aquarium, library, swimming pool, and festivals. Benjamin has great fun playing with his cousins and exploring new places! We’d love to welcome another child into the mix!
We spend as much time as we can outdoors. On Sunday afternoons we often have the whole extended family over to play and spend quality time together. Chris makes dinner, grilling out when the weather is nice. And Benjamin cuddles and plays with Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Hosting Sunday dinner and fun at our place is a family tradition. We hope it will be a cherished memory our kids will have for the rest of their lives.

Our Home
We live in a beautiful Victorian home with a large backyard in a historic part of Dayton just a block from our neighborhood playground and a close walk to Benjamin’s grandparents and cousins. It’s a great place for kids, and with two dogs and a cat, life is never boring.
Our peaceful neighborhood is full of families with young kids, and there are lots of activities – holiday parties, talent shows, movie nights under the stars, sledding, parades, Christmas lights competitions, and more! We’ve been so lucky that our neighbors on both sides are families with kids Benjamin’s age and young babies. Playing together in our backyards is really easy!
We loved our trip to the Colorado mountains!

Our Family At a Glance
We live in Dayton, Ohio. We’ve been together for 16 years. We both have a master’s degree in public health. Katrina works in racial and health justice, and Chris works in business continuity. Our shared hobbies are hiking and exploring nature, playing with the dogs, and spending quality time with family and friends. Katrina enjoys yoga and community volunteering, and Chris likes gardening and cooking. Benjamin loves playing outside, reading, and animals. We believe every child is precious and deserves the best life possible. We believe that family is made of the people you choose to have in your life, regardless of genetics.
