Meet Erin & Robert L.

Dear Birth Family,

We can only imagine the strength and selflessness you must have, to be considering an adoption plan for your child. Even though we don’t know you yet, we are praying for you as you prepare to make possibly one of the biggest, hardest, most important decisions of your life. We are grateful for your courage.

We are Erin and Robert, and we have been married for ten years. We met in 2010, got married within a year, and have been so thankful for the gift of each other’s friendship and love.

We share a great friendship and love.

In November of 2017, we adopted our daughter, Amarie Isabella, and have been on cloud nine ever since. She is spunky, strong, and full of life. Then in January of 2020, we adopted our son, Kallum Emmanuel, who is spirited and curious and has the most contagious laugh in the world. Getting to be these kids’ parents is the best gift we have ever received. We have a good relationship with both Amarie and Kallum’s birth mothers and consider our kids’ biological family to be an important part of their legacy and culture.

We make our home just outside of downtown Cincinnati. We love our neighborhood because it is down-to-earth and diverse. We live in the midst of a wonderful community of neighbors and church friends and get to interact daily with folks from all walks of life.

Robert grows food in gardens around our neighborhood and uses it to run a pay-a-you-can breakfast restaurant, just down the street from our house. Across the road from our cafe is Amarie’s little Montessori preschool, where Erin works two mornings a week teaching nature education. So many of our mornings look like this: wake the kids up and walk to the end of the block, where Dad (Robert) is making breakfast for our friends and neighbors using food that we grew as a family. After our meal, we go across the street, where Mama (Erin) teaches Amarie and her classmates. Kallum gets to hang out with Robert or with a loving family friend who provides childcare each week.

We love nature and spend most of our free time outside. We have taken the fences down in our backyard, between the yards of several different families who are all good friends of ours. There is a playhouse, a chicken coop, lots of bikes and muddy pits for digging, 15 kids among the five houses, and -most importantly- loving adults looking out for everyone.

We love being parents and are deeply grateful for the gift of adoption. We dream of sharing our lives with another child, and, if we are blessed enough to do so, we promise to never stop working to make sure she or he knows stability, security, and love. We want to ensure a good relationship between you and your child and will work together with you to make a plan for an open adoption. You are important people in your child’s life — and in our life — and we are deeply thankful for this gift.

Our Family At a Glance

Our hobbies include cooking, hiking, picnicking by the river, camping, swimming, and spending time with family and good friends.
