Meet Erin & Dan S.
Dearest birthparent,
Hello. We are Erin and Dan. We met in high school in New Jersey and continued dating long distance (10 hours!) while attending college. When Erin pursued her law degree at the University of Cincinnati, we fell in love with Cincinnati and decided to stay. We married at the Cincinnati Art Museum in October 2014. The fall remains our favorite season.
We gave birth to our daughter Maeve in July 2019 and bought a new house in the vibrant Cincinnati neighborhood of College Hill shortly thereafter. Maeve is now a sweet, creative, and inquisitive toddler. She loves to read and do art projects. She is always up for a new adventure. More than anything, she is excited to become a big sister.
The two of us both plan on continuing to work full-time after adopting, but will take approximately four months off work to bond with the new baby. We have a wonderful daycare provider, Ms. Leanne, who currently watches Maeve in her home. Maeve loves going to daycare and enjoys playing with her friends.
Despite our busy work lives, family is our number one priority. Cell phones are off and away every evening for a family meal and playtime. On the weekends, you will find us doing arts and crafts projects with Maeve and going to local playgrounds, the zoo, or the Cincinnati museum center. We love to travel and visit family often.
About Dan, by Erin. Dan has played many roles in his life — adored son, wonderful big brother, excellent boyfriend and then excellent husband, and empathetic manager. His best role is dad. Dan has a patience for Maeve and her normal toddler antics that is unending. He is always willing to fast forward through the portion of a TV show she doesn’t like, draw a heart for the 1,000th time, or spin her around in the pool even though he is already dizzy. Dan is empathetic, smart, logical, and silly — all of the best attributes of a dad. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have Dan as my husband.
About Erin, by Dan. I’ve been lucky enough to know Erin for more than half of my life. We have been together through thick and thin and have shared countless marvelous experiences. One of the most wonderful things about Erin is her endless capacity for empathy and caring. Her love for our daughter is immeasurable and I know she will be the same exceptional mom to our next child. Erin is a brilliant, accomplished professional as well as a creative and fun-loving person. She is relentless in her search for exciting new experiences and adventures to explore as a family. I cannot imagine my life without Erin by my side.
Our home. We live in the diverse and bustling neighborhood of College Hill in Cincinnati. We are within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, parks, schools, a nature preserve and the library. We appreciate that the urban environment, while completely safe, affords us a lot of excellent amenities like a world class children’s hospital and zoo. We have a large fenced-in backyard (for our dogs and kids alike), a fenced-in pool, and a wonderful patio.

We live in the College Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati. We’ve been married since 2014. Erin is a lawyer and Dan is a computer programmer. Our hobbies include cooking, swimming, reading, and exploring Cincinnati. We believe that every child deserves unconditional love and acceptance for who they are.
