Meet Brendan R. & Andrew N.
Dear Birthparents,
We are Brendan and Andrew and we live in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since we met eight years ago, we have dreamed about starting a family through open adoption. In 2023, we were fortunate that a birth mother chose us to be the family for our son, Emmett. We have loved every part of family life – morning cuddles, neighborhood walks, family dinners, bedtime stories, vacations, hikes, and dance parties. Now we are hoping that our son will become a big brother!
Our Story
We met in Cleveland, Ohio, and bonded over our love of music and Notre Dame football, our big families, and our Catholic faith. We have been on so many adventures in these last seven years – hiking in over a dozen national parks, getting a dog, starting new jobs, buying a house, moving to Cincinnati, and our greatest adventure yet: becoming dads to Emmett when he was born in November 2023.
About Andrew by Brendan Andrew is the best partner I could hope to have, and he is also a wonderful dad! He is kind, gentle, very thoughtful, and is the steady rock of our family. He is a great piano player, and it has been so cute watching him teach Emmett to love music! He works extremely hard but is also incredibly present to our family. Andrew loves being a dad!
About Brendan by Andrew Brendan is the most caring, humble, and generous person I know. As soon as Emmett joined our family, his natural ability as a father and caretaker began to shine. He doesn’t hesitate to put others’ needs before his own, and he is the animating force in our family. Brendan treats everyone he meets with care and respect. I look up to him for this, and I know our children will, too.
We get outside often and love going for hikes in the many parks near our home.
Our Family and Community Our children will grow up being deeply loved by many grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles, who all live nearby. We spend all of the holidays together and take family vacations every year.
We live in a safe, quiet neighborhood on the east side of Cincinnati. There are a lot of other families with kids of all ages running around every day. We have a basketball hoop and a big backyard perfect for a swingset, soccer, wiffle ball, and making s’mores around the firepit.
Our Life with Emmett
We love being dads! We met Emmett just after he was born in November 2023 and he immediately stole our hearts. He is an amazing little boy who delights us from the minute he wakes up. We love him so much. He lights up when his dads play the piano and the guitar, and he loves to play along. He likes climbing, swinging, reading, and being around other kids and our dog. He is so ready to be a big brother! Our life as a family is filled with trips to the zoo, aquarium, walks around our neighborhood, and playing with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Our Family At a Glance

Our hobbies include playing with our dog Clancy, cooking, hiking, running, traveling, and playing the piano.
