Meet Andy & Melissa B.
Dear Expectant Parents,
We are Andy, Melissa, and Eva Buhrlage. We live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and while our infertility journey has been long, it’s taught us especially, that family is what you make it. Eva came to us from adoption in October 2018 and has been the greatest blessing. As we both treasured having a sibling, we’ve known for a long time we want that for Eva as well.
Andy on Melissa…
There isn’t enough room in this format to explain my feelings for Melissa. She is the most loyal, loving, considerate, and all-around great person I have ever met. Watching the pain she went through during our infertility journey has been far surpassed by the joy I get watching her be the best mother to our child that I could ever ask for. I believe that every young girl needs a strong example of what a woman is and Melissa provides Eva the perfect blueprint. I awake most days still not quite sure I deserve such a wonderful family, but it makes me strive every day to make sure I show them how wonderful they truly are.

Melissa on Andy…
Even after nearly 12 years of marriage, I still wonder how I lucked out having Andy as a husband. He is funny, comfortable with anyone, laid-back and is such a wonderful partner, splitting up housework. He makes me feel like I’m the most beautiful woman in the world and I love the life we’ve built. Just as importantly, he is the most amazing father to our beautiful girl. He is so thoughtful & attentive, and I know Eva will never, ever doubt she’s loved.
Our Hobbies…
Sports and music are a huge part of our lives — for as long as we can each remember, and that’s proven to be true of Eva as well. We have many other hobbies, including reading, hiking, and just generally being outside in nature. We also have a dog named Penny (an 8-yr-old beagle mix) who equally adores being outside!

Our Home…
We live on the West Side of Cincinnati and have a private 100 acre park just for our neighborhood, which is well-established with young kids everywhere, and over a mile long with hundreds of homes. We’re excited to live here for many years!
We can hardly imagine the flood of emotions you might be feeling right now. We know that you did not come to your decision lightly. Please know that is true for us as well. We both have made our decisions out of love and that makes this connection all the more special. We dream of the day we have our family of four — a front row seat to another little person learning, growing, and experiencing life, with Eva relishing her role as Big Sister.

We live in Cincinnati. We work as a chemist and market research manager. We’ve been married since 2012. Our hobbies include sports, reading, music, hiking, and traveling. We believe that raising children is an absolute joy. We love watching a child learn, develop, and experience life.
