This required 47-hour adoption course provides prospective adoptive parents in Ohio with essential knowledge and skills for a successful adoption journey. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the legal rights and responsibilities they assume upon adoption finalization, including decision-making authority, financial support obligations, and mandatory child welfare protections. The course also thoroughly covers the policies and procedures of adoption agencies—from pre-adoption training and the home study process to placement and finalization—ensuring that families are well-prepared to navigate every step of the adoption process. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the practical information, resources, and confidence needed to build strong, supportive adoptive families in compliance with Ohio law.
