Meet Kara P.

loving young woman ready to adopt

Dear Birth Parent,

I respect and admire you and your decision to put the needs of your child first considering how difficult and emotional this decision must be. If you choose me to parent your child, I promise I will provide unconditional love, emotional and financial support, a safe and stable home, a loving extended family, and a good education.

My name is Kara. I grew up in a small town where I was able to thrive in all aspects of life with the support of my family and friends. I have a Master’s degree in Education and have been a middle school special education teacher for 12 years, working primarily with students with disabilities. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dogs, singing, reading, arts and crafts, traveling, and attending concerts and theatrical events.

I have always planned on growing my family through adoption and am now financially and emotionally ready to do so. I have a stable and loving relationship with my family and friends, and would like to share my life and those relationships with a child.

I live in a quiet, family-friendly, and diverse neighborhood with lots of children. My cozy house has two bedrooms, a loft, a finished basement, and a fenced-in yard. In anticipation of my adoption journey, I have made numerous home improvements. I have two sweet and adorable dogs, Teddy and Willard.

While I am single, I am not alone. My child will be surrounded by people who love and care for him or her. My mother, sister, and I are very close. Both live nearby and are excited to have another child in the family! My father lives just 30 minutes away and is willing and able to support me in my adoption journey.

My extended family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, are scattered throughout the country. Education has been a priority in my family, which includes teachers, medical professionals, lawyers, and professors.

I plan to take a leave from my job following the placement of a child in my home. When I go back to work, my mother will provide full-time childcare. If I need to come home during the work day, I can be there in less than 10 minutes.

Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my life and my adoption journey. Hopefully our adoption journeys will converge.
