Meet Chris L. & Lizzy G.

Dear Birthparents,

Early on in our relationship we knew that adoption is the right way for us to grow our family. We promise to care for and love our children forever, and believe that an open adoption is important to provide a truthful, well-adjusted outcome for all involved. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.

We met at college through running, and got to know each other first as friends before marrying in 2018. We always knew that we wanted to adopt our own kids, and we adopted our daughter, Carissa, in April 2024.

We live in Dayton, close to friends and family. We love to run, hike, travel, learn new things, talk, cook, and spend time with family together. We especially enjoy spending time with Carissa and her many cousins, watching them grow and learn.

We live in a diverse, family-friendly town with tons of parks, museums, and other places to play and learn. Our welcoming home has a recent addition for more room to play. Though we’ve added indoor space, much of the fun is outside of the house, where we have several acres, garden beds, a playset, a music studio in the barn, and a path through the field to Lizzy’s parents’ house next door.

Lizzy: I am a loving, conscientious, loyal person who loves to spend time with family and friends. I easily see good in people and beauty in the world.

My favorite activities are running and exploring with family, especially my adventure partners, Chris and Carissa. As a kid, I loved to spend time outside, play sports, catch frogs, and ride horses. I can’t wait to share these experiences with my own kids.

Chris: I love to learn, and to laugh, especially with Carissa and Lizzy. Kids have always mattered to me, through years of family, camps and schools.

I will teach our kids to speak Spanish for more chances to meet people and think critically. I love to spend time with family, run, play music, read and learn. I hope to share my hobbies but let our kids make their own path.

Thank you for considering our family. We promise to be loving parents, and raise our kids to value empathy, curiosity, resilience, and trust. We value open adoption and will work together with you to make sure that our child knows his or her roots.

We live in Dayton, Ohio. We love to spend time with family and go to parks. We work as a physician assistant and as teachers. We married in 2018. We believe in the importance of open adoptions and live this out. We are open to twins.
