Meet Erin & Robert L.
Dear Birth Family,
We can only imagine the strength and selflessness you must have, to be considering an adoption plan for your child. Even though we don’t know you yet, we are praying for you as you prepare to make possibly one of the biggest, hardest, most important decisions of your life. We are grateful for your courage.
We are Erin and Robert and we have been married for twelve years. We met in 2010, got married within a year, and have been so thankful for the gift of each other’s friendship and love.
We share a great friendship and love.
In November of 2017, we adopted our daughter, Amarie Isabella. She is spunky, strong, full of life and makes us laugh every day. Then in January of 2020, we adopted our son, Kallum Emmanuel, who is spirited and curious and has the most contagious laugh in the world. Getting to be these kids’ parents is the best gift we have ever received. We have a good relationship with both Amarie and Kallum’s birth mothers and consider our kids’ biological family to be an important part of their legacy and culture.
Kallum and Amarie are happy siblings.
We make our home just outside of downtown Cincinnati. We love our neighborhood because it is down-to-earth and diverse. We live in the midst of a wonderful community of neighbors and church friends and get to interact daily with folks from all walks of life.
Robert grows food in gardens around our neighborhood and uses it to run a pay-a-you-can breakfast restaurant, just down the street from our house. Across the road from our cafe is Amarie and Kallum’s Montessori preschool, where Erin also works, teaching nature education. Many of our mornings look like this: wake the kids up and walk to the end of the block, where Dad (Robert) is making breakfast for our friends and neighbors, using food that we grew as a family. After our meal, we go across the street, where Mama (Erin) teaches Amarie, Kallum, and their classmates. We feel so lucky to share such an integrated life with each other and with our neighbors.
We love nature and spend most of our free time outside. We have taken the fences down between the backyards of several different families who are all good friends of ours. So our outdoor space is a sweet place, surrounded with one big fence to keep everyone corralled. There are two playhouses, a couple of swings, lots of bikes and muddy pits for digging, 12 kids among the five houses, and — most importantly — loving adults looking out for everyone.
We spend most of our free time outside.
We love being parents and are deeply grateful for the gift of adoption. We dream of sharing our lives with another child, and, if we are blessed enough to do so, we promise to never stop working to make sure she or he knows stability, security, and love. We want to ensure a good relationship between you and your child and will work together with you to make a plan for an open adoption. You are important people in your child’s life — and in our life — and we are deeply thankful for this gift.

Our Family At a Glance
We live in Cincinnati, Ohio.
We’ve been married since November 2011.
We run a restaurant with the food we grow ourselves and our day to day is very community-based and integrated with our vibrant, diverse neighborhood.
Our hobbies include being together as a family! We love to cook, go on adventures around town, picnic by the river, camp, swim, and spend time with good friends.
We believe that adoption is a path of courage and love.
