Meet Patrick & Katie R.

Dear Birthparent,

Thank you for taking this time to learn a bit about us. We have looked forward to having a family of our own since we began dating. After three years of struggling with infertility, we know in our hearts that we are being called to adopt a child. We are ready and excited to start this life adventure and to take this journey with you.

We met through an online site and after dating for about two years, Patrick asked Katie to marry him at a very special spot in Ohio – Geneva on the Lake. We selected the date of June 3, 2017, because it reflected Patrick’s late mother Jean’s birthdate and allowed us to celebrate our special day with her. And a fun and exciting day it was, surrounded by friends and family!

We have worked incredibly hard on our careers in order to prepare for a family.

Patrick went back to school to finish his bachelor’s degree in business administration and graduated with honors. He currently works at home as a Manager of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics for a utility company.

Katie earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and now works in an outpatient clinic with children of all ages. She absolutely loves the children she works with and has definitely found her passion.

Trip to Pittsburgh

We try to make as much time for one another as possible. We do a lot together.

Our favorite activity is traveling.We make it a priority to visit new places together. We enjoy exploring, learning about different cultures, trying new foods, and pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zones. Some of our favorite places have been Costa Rica, Bahamas, San Francisco, New York, and visiting Disney World.

In addition to traveling, which is our favorite activity, we enjoy cooking family meals, visiting local coffee shops and breweries, playing golf, and doing volunteer and nonprofit work.

We love spending time with family and with our close group of friends here in Columbus. All the people we love are excited for us to adopt.

Katie on Patrick Patrick is one of the most selfless, kind, and loving individuals I’ve met. It’s an honor to be his wife and best friend. He has some incredible hobbies such as wood working, playing guitar, and working for a local nonprofit in his free time. I know that he will make an amazing father, dedicated to providing our family a great life.

Patrick on Katie Katie is my best friend and the love of my life. She is a very caring person who always puts others first. She values family above all else. Her obsession with Disney and Harry Potter makes sense because she is magical in her own right. There is nothing more in the world I would love to see than Katie sharing her magic with our child.

Our Family At a Glance

We live in Columbus, Ohio. We’ve been married since June 3, 2017. Patrick works as a Manager of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. Katie works as a children’s Occupational Therapist. Our hobbies include walking our dog, golfing, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends. We believe that a family is more than just those who are blood. It takes a village to raise a child who is confident and loved. We look forward to you being part of our village/family.
