Meet Matt & Amanda P.

Adoptive family

Dear Birthparents,

Thank you for taking time to read our story. We can only imagine what you may be experiencing right now, and we admire how strong and selfless you are to consider adoption. We are here to support you if you need us.

Adoption has always been near and dear to our hearts. Amanda was adopted as a child, and we adopted our son, Brandon. We had discussed adoption even before we were married and feel it is a wonderful way to share all the love we have to give.

Our Story Our relationship began on New Year’s Eve 2005 when we were introduced by mutual friends. The connection was instant, and we married just two years later. With each day we continue to become closer and closer, learning new things about each other. We are best friends and will continue to be for the rest of our lives.

We love our wonderful dogs, Molly (left) and Abbey.

Meet Amanda Amanda grew up with one younger brother in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where her mother and brother still reside. Both she and her brother were adopted as children. Her family was active and enjoyed biking, downhill skiing, and hiking. Amanda continues to enjoy physical activities. She recently ran a half marathon, and loves spinning and going to the Metroparks with Brandon.

Amanda, by Matt Amanda’s compassion is what I love most about her. She is the kind of mother who makes everything fun and exciting. She loves being a mom and is really excited about this adoption journey.

This will be our second adoption

Meet Matt Matt grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, where his family still resides, and is the youngest of three brothers. Matt is an amazing dad to Brandon, and the two of them share a close bond. Matt loves golf, which he played as a child. He also likes watching sports, woodworking, cooking, and spending time with Brandon and the dogs. Matt is really excited to expand his family again through adoption.

Matt by Amanda I feel truly lucky to have met and fallen in love with Matt. He is funny, kind, honest, hardworking, caring, and loving. I am thankful to have found someone who shares my values, morals, and life goals.

Meet Brandon Brandon was placed with us through a local child service agency when he was three months old. We fostered him for three years and, when his adoption was finalized in August 2019, we were beyond excited. He is a bright light — a funny, smart, and upbeat little boy. He’s really excited about being a big brother.

Our 9 to 5 Matt has a bachelor’s degree in Bio Chem. and is a Director of Sales at a safety engineering company. Amanda has a master’s degree in Social Work and is a Human Resources Manager at a child welfare agency.

Wonderful parents for a child

Our Home We live in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, a safe and family-oriented community with a top-rated school district. The Cleveland Metroparks are nearby, and we enjoy going for walks there. We have great neighbors that we have a lot of fun with.

We have two dogs — Abbey, our Golden Retriever, who is super sweet, loves children, and is a complete joy, and Molly, our American Chocolate Lab, who is also wonderful with children.

Thank You We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to view our adoption profile and learn more about who we are. We are fortunate to have a life filled with love and can’t wait to share that with another child. We admire your courage and wish you the best on your journey. We are honored you’ve taken the time to review our profile, and look forward to learning more about you.

With much love and gratitude,
Matt & Amanda

Our Family At a Glance

We live in the Cleveland, Ohio, area. We’ve been married since November 2007. We work in sales and human resources. Our hobbies include walking in the Metroparks, woodworking, baking and being active as a family. We love spending time with family and friends. We believe in open adoption because it allows for an open relationship with a child’s birth family which can be one of the best experiences in adoption — for both the birth family and the adoptive family, and most importantly, the child.
