Meet Ivan & Monica R..
Dear Birthparent,
Thank you for taking this moment to learn a bit about us. We met as children in the church where we both were raised, and we’ve been inseparable since. Our lifelong dream was to marry and raise our family in the community we grew up in, surrounded by our amazing family, and we are fulfilling that dream. We are blessed!
Parenthood has always been a calling for us, and adoption has been a possibility from the start. We were blessed by this calling of adoption in 2024, when we adopted our sweet son John Henry. Our faith remains a significant part of our lives and we still attend our childhood church with our families.
We love every minute we get to share together as a family. We enjoy being active, taking family walks, cooking meals together, spending time with family and friends, taking weekend trips, watching sports, and boating on Indian Lake.
Family is everything to us. We have large, loving families, who live close by. We frequently gather for meals, ice cream outings, games, and just to enjoy one another’s company.
We are grateful for the family excavating business and the family farm, which enable us to work alongside and learn from Ivan’s parents while giving back to our community.
We cherish every moment together.
The Three of Us
About Ivan. I’m a dedicated family man with a strong work ethic. I work in our family’s excavating business and am passionate about building our local community, creating good jobs, and supporting my family. I cherish moments with my wife and son, friends, and family. Staying active, watching sports, golfing, hunting, and embracing the outdoors are among my hobbies.
About Monica. Driven by a desire to help others reach their full potential, I graduated with a doctorate in physical therapy in 2021, and now enjoy contributing to my community. During my free time, I treasure the moments with Ivan and John Henry, boating, staying active, cooking, and spending time with loved ones.
About John Henry. John Henry is the sweetest, happiest, and smiliest boy. You can see the light of the Lord shine through him. He loves going on adventures with mom and dad, being with his extended family, and playing with his dog, Scout. He is such a lover, and will make the best big brother!

Life at Home
Eager to share our lives with children, we have created a welcoming home, an ideal place for our children to learn and grow. Our cozy country home, with a spacious yard perfect for outdoor play, sits on 1.5 acres adjacent to the 450-acre family farm. In addition to having family nearby, our community has parks, nature preserves, community swimming pools, walking paths, bike paths, the Old Field Beach at Indian Lake, and the Logan County Library.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we are grateful that our child care plans consist of family members only, including: Ivan’s mother; Monica’s grandmother, parents, aunts, and uncles; and our oldest sisters. That’s a real village!

Our Family At a Glance
We live in Indian Lake, Ohio. We’ve been married since August 2020. We work as a project manager and a doctor of physical therapy. Our hobbies include spending time with our dear family and friends, boating on Indian Lake, being active, watching sports, attending concerts, taking weekend trips, and working around our home. We believe that God has adopted us as His children, and we are being called to share that same love with a child through open adoption.
