Meet Eric and Meredith P.
We are Eric and Meredith. Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about us. We believe a child deserves a lifetime of love, fun, education, exploration, and support, and promise to offer these things to your child each day if you choose us as adoptive parents for your sweet little one.
About Meredith. I have been a public school teacher for 10 years and have interacted with students of varying needs, abilities, and personalities. This has uniquely equipped me to be a parent! I am passionate about community involvement, public education, local historic preservation, gardening, reading, and yoga. I can promise your child a lifetime of fun, reading, traveling, arts & crafts, museum visits, summer days at the pool, and lake trips to Michigan. My career affords me all summers and holidays off, and I cannot wait to spend that time as a mom!
About Eric. I earned my engineering degree at The Ohio State University in 2012, and have worked for the same company since then. I love to garden, cook and bake, cycle, kayak, golf, build things, spend time with friends, and travel. I can promise your child a lifetime of support, protection, guidance, fun projects and learning experiences, and most importantly, unconditional love.
Spending time in our newly remodeled kitchen
Our lives together. We live in Troy, Ohio, where we both grew up and are lucky to have both sets of parents close by. They are already wonderful grandparents and are over the moon about a new grandchild joining the family. We spend holidays, Sunday dinners, and weekends with our families, and often travel together. We adore our town and community. We live a few short blocks from our downtown, and enjoy daily walks around the town square, our local park, and our urban nature preserve. We are very near to our local library that offers wonderful children’s’ programming, a local play studio for children, and a state-of-the-art aquatic center. Our public schools are some of the best in the Dayton area. Our little town has lots of family friendly events going on, and we are excited to participate in these events as new parents!
Attending a family wedding
Living life to the fullest. We like to explore, including attending local concerts, music festivals, and cultural festivals (Greek Fest, Italian Fest, etc.), trying new foods, cooking ethnic cuisine, and traveling! We are active outdoors, kayaking, cycling, golfing, walking, hiking, and swimming. We are involved in our community, serving on local committees, teaching at the local cultural center, coaching youth, and organizing neighborhood events. We love spending time with family, including time with our nieces and nephews, traveling with both sets of our parents, Sunday night dinners, and holiday parties throughout the year. We enjoy hanging with each other. We are truly best friends and enjoy every day together, taking walks with our dogs, watching TV, bantering back and forth, working in our yard, and dreaming up new interior design ideas. We are so excited to add becoming parents together to this list!
Childcare. Meredith plans to take at least one year off to be a stay-at-home mom. She has summers and long holiday breaks off as part of her teaching job. This will allow us lots of time to build holiday traditions, and spend lazy days at the pool in the summer! Eric works full time from home and has a very flexible work schedule. He is excited to be able to be more involved in those early days! Upon returning to work, Meredith’s mom and Eric’s mom will rotate to take care of baby.
Fun at Disney
Thank you again. We realize you are making one of the hardest decisions of your life. We believe that open adoption is best for all involved and hope to maintain a relationship with you at whatever level you are comfortable with. We promise to offer a lifetime of unconditional love, opportunities, and commitment. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you.
